Marilyn Manson Replacing Five Finger Death Punch for Arizona Bike Week 2025

Marilyn Manson will performing at Arizona Bike Week in Scottsdale, Arizona on Saturday, April 5th 2025! Though Manson had not been previously scheduled for this event which is just a few weeks away, yesterday Arizona Bike Week made the following announcement on their social media pages: "Five Finger Death Punch had to cancel their performance due to a family matter, but we’re thrilled to announce Marilyn Manson will be taking the stage in the RockYard on Saturday, April 5th!! Saturday ticket holders will be receiving an email regarding this schedule change." Due to the lineup change, this will be Marilyn Manson's first headliner at a festival since his return to the stage last year. Regarding the nearly last minute schedule change, Arizona Bike Week producer Lisa Cyr told the Arizona Republic the following: “It’s been a little crazy, obviously. A lot of scrambling. But we’re pretty excited with the way it all turned out. Marilyn Manson, I hear that his last few tours hav...

Evan Rachel Wood Returns to Instagram and Makes an Interesting Admission of Drug Use as a "Child"

On April 24th 2024, Evan Rachel Wood deactivated her Instagram, as previously reported, and remained completely away from the public eye until she reactivated her Instagram account on June 11th 2024, nearly two months later. Whether she did this merely to take a break or not is unknown, though I explored some possible explanations in my previous post. However, it does seem like it is interesting timing that she did return when she did. Here are a few reasons why.

First, the day prior to her return, on June 10th, it was widely reported that Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman were returning for a long-awaited Practical Magic sequel, and that Akiva Goldsman, one of the writers behind the original, will pen the screenplay. In the original 1998 film, Evan Rachel Wood plays Kylie Owens, the daughter of Sandra Bullock's character, and it has long been speculated that if there was a sequel, then it would focus on the daughters, especially Evan's character. And if there has been one movie from Evan's past that she has most often promoted, it would be this one, especially around Halloween. In fact, this past October, Evan was urging on Instagram for the studio to release the Director's Cut of the original, because it contains more about the role domestic abuse plays in the story. The hint has always seemed that Evan was trying to get a sequel done for this movie. Suddenly when a sequel is announced and widely reported, Evan reactivated her Instagram, though as of today she has not said anything about the sequel or if she will be a part of it.

Second, her movie Backspot was released on May 31st, and she did absolutely no prior promotion for the film, despite it being a very limited release in theaters and relying more on its streaming. The first time she mentioned the film to promote it was on Instagram on June 16th.

Third, in light of the Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs allegations, Senator Susan Rubio at the end of May 2024 began to further her promotion of passing Phoenix Act 2.0, which would extend the statute of limitations for domestic violence from 5 to 15 years in California. On June 12th, Senator Rubio held a press conference in which she addressed this bill, among others she is trying to pass, and in a post on Instagram she thanked both Evan and Esme Bianco first and foremost for their efforts in helping to pass the original Phoenix Act in 2019. Esme Bianco supported the Senator's efforts by putting out a video addressing these issues. Evan posted a few news reports on this legislation on her Instagram on June 17th.

Lastly, on June 15th, Cinespia screened Across the Universe at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, perhaps Evan's favorite movie she ever did. Evan is no stranger to these Cinespia screenings, as it has been reported that she has attended these screenings in the past, including a screening of Moulin Rouge in 2019 with her then girlfriend Illma Gore. It was no surprise therefore that she would introduce this screening, however she was unable to attend due to an alleged "knee injury", so she did a virtual introduction, which can be partly seen here.

With all these factors piling up, it is no wonder Evan returned to social media when she did. Evan claims she is recovering from a knee injury, though we have not been told how she was injured, but she does say that it is because of this injury that she is "not going anywhere." To not go anywhere because of a knee injury sounds a little odd, unless it is a really bad injury, but her emphasis on using it as an excuse to not go "anywhere" seems a bit extreme, which is why it does sound more like an excuse than anything, whether she is in fact recovering from a knee injury or not. I would not be as suspicious if she had not deactivated her Instagram for almost two months and just returned, but the fact is that she seems to be under the radar on purpose for some reason, though she couldn't resist at least giving some sort of introduction to her magnum opus film, Across the Universe, being screened by Cinespia.

Today, June 18th, multiple news outlets are reporting on something Evan said in her virtual introduction to Across the Universe that was not captured on film a few days earlier when The Hollywood Reporter published the video on social media. This is what Evan reportedly said that was not captured on film:

"They told me to share a funny story or moment from when we were on set. Well, I’ll just say this … during the ‘I Am the Walrus’ scene, any moment you see myself and Jim Sturgess, we are actually tripping. Anything that takes place in Luna Park’s Loft, Doctor Roberts Publisher — the Psychedelic Loft. Yeah. Me, Jim Sturgess, and Joe Anderson, we’re all actually tripping and Julie Taymor didn’t know until after the fact. And when we told her, she said, ‘Oh, that makes sense.’”

The scene in question is one of the more psychedelic moments of the film. During the sequence, Evan’s character Lucy and Sturgess’ Jude attend a nightclub show where Bono, performing as “Dr. Robert,” sings the Beatles song “I Am the Walrus.” A montage of swirling colors and lights ensues as we’re led to believe the main characters are on a drug trip.

If it wasn't for the allegations Evan has made against Manson, this story would not be a big deal, just a fun fact for fans of Across the Universe. However, seeing that Evan has accused Manson in her documentary Phoenix Rising of making her a drug addict by feeding her drugs against her will while on tour with him in 2007, and claiming she was "underage" when Manson gave her "large amounts of drugs and alcohol" at a Halloween party in 2007 that "caused" her to dress like a transvestite Hitler, then alleging Manson drugged her in May 2007 in order to rape her while filming the video for "Heart-Shaped Glasses", and other such claims, then this admission by Evan takes on a new dimension. After all, Manson did not introduce Evan to drugs, as she is known to have been an avid cocaine user before she met Manson. Manson even seems capture this fact in a painting he did of Evan in 2006, called Pretty Persuasion, after a 2005 film she did of the same title, and in this painting Evan is depicted with cocaine in her nostrils, which may be there to show that she played the role while on cocaine. It's not without reason that as early as 2007 Evan had the nickname of "Snowflake" due to her notorious association with cocaine. Even in an interview from 2003, though Evan admitted she filmed the movie Thirteen with no prior experience with drugs, she did admit to the fact that she was constantly surrounded by drugs because all of her friends did them (then why wouldn't she?).

It should be noted also that in the August 2007 issue of Elle U.K., Evan was asked about drugs, and there she stated: "I'm not saying I'm an angel, I just don't have an addictive personality." This was stated at the same time when Evan claimed years later in Phoenix Rising that Manson made her a drug addict. Before this, in her 2019 testimony before the California Senate, Evan dared to make the laughable claim that Manson (who had yet to be named) "had hidden a terrible drug and alcohol problem" from her. And we cannot forget that also in Phoenix Rising, Evan often refers to herself as a "child" and a "teenager" and "so young" to deflect responsibility off of herself in getting into a relationship with Manson in an attempt to label him as a groomer and manipulator.

And yet today it is revealed that Evan and a few of her co-stars in Across the Universe were tripping while filming a psychedelic scene. By tripping we can assume she did acid, perhaps mushrooms. And if she was comfortable to do acid or mushrooms in a psychedelic scene and look professional at the same time, then we can also assume this was not the first time she did a psychedelic. And if she had done a psychedelic before, then we can assume she did other drugs before, because it would be unusual to begin drug use with psychedelics. And this acid trip took place when she was 18 years old, the age she was when she filmed Across the Universe.

Though we don't yet have a full video of Evan's virtual introduction, we can assume by her sharing this "funny story" of her actually tripping during filming in 2005, that she looks back at it not only humorously, but even as something cool from her past. But if we are to believe she considered herself "underage" at 20 and a "child" and a "teenager" and "so young" at 19 when she started dating Manson, then what does she consider herself as a drug user as an even younger teenager? Shouldn't there also be a word of caution to other teens to not do drugs? To whom can she assume the responsibility for her actions, since she refuses to take any responsibility for her actions at 19 or 20? To escape taking any responsibility for later drug problems, she conveniently blamed Manson over and over again, an easy target well-known for being open about his drug use. The reality is, I would not put it past her if one of her main initial attractions to Manson was the freedom he gave her to do the drugs she wanted.

Update 6/18/24 (3:00pm):

It appears Evan has deactivated her Instagram again, likely this morning. Perhaps too much bad pr in the media today showcasing her as a teenage druggie?
