What Marilyn Manson's No. 41 Billboard Debut Really Tells Us

When Marilyn Manson's One Assassination Under God – Chapter 2 debuted at No. 41 on the Billboard 200, Forbes described the result as a new career low for the controversial musician. In terms of the Billboard 200 itself, that description is accurate. Chapter 2 became Manson's first traditional studio album since his debut to miss the Top 40, falling one position short of the threshold that every other regular studio album had reached since Portrait of an American Family . His previous album, One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1 , had reached No. 32 in 2024, while We Are Chaos had reached No. 8 in 2020. It would therefore be pointless to argue that the No. 41 position somehow does not represent a decline. It plainly does. The Scar Left After the Spectacle: Marilyn Manson Releases New Single and Announces New Album

  New Single Released and New Album Announced June 12th 2026 marks a day of exciting new releases and new announcements for Marilyn Manson ahead of his upcoming summer tour. When the clock struck midnight, the first single off the new album was released titled "Exit Wound", and along with this we were informed not only about the titles of the nine new tracks off the upcoming new album, which is a direct follow up to the previous album and simply titled One Assassination Under God - Chapter 2 , but also August 14th as the release date for the new album. In the morning hours, we also received a message from Marilyn Manson himself on social media together with the release of his new music video for "Exit Wound". Judge Rejects Marilyn Manson's Latest Bid to Dismiss Ashley Walters Lawsuit

At a hearing held June 5, 2026, Judge Steve Cochran overruled a demurrer filed by Manson, whose legal name is Brian Warner, and Marilyn Manson Records, Inc., and denied a related motion to strike portions of Walters' Third Amended Complaint. The ruling means that Walters' lawsuit survives another legal challenge and that Warner must now file a formal answer to the complaint within twenty days. According to the court's minute order, Judge Cochran accepted certain documents or records that the defendants asked the court to consider, and rejected the plaintiff's argument against doing so, and ultimately concluded that the allegations were sufficient to move forward at this stage of the proceedings. The ruling follows months of litigation surrounding whether Walters' claims can proceed under California's recently enacted Assembly Bill 250 (AB 250), which took effect on January 1, 2026. Sobriety as a Cosmic Ritual

In a recent podcast interview about narcissistic abuse, Evan Rachel Wood said that Marilyn Manson described in his autobiography how the Brian Warner part of him was dead and whatever he had become was now his true self. Her purpose was to show that Manson completely abandoned his humanity and truly came to embody a disassociated narcissistic monster. But is this what his autobiography actually said or even implied? No, of course not. He says something along those lines, but she completely twists it to make a point that fits her narrative rather than the actual facts.  What Manson actually describes in his autobiography is that he went through a personal apocalypse.
