Marilyn Manson and wife Lindsay attend Enfants Riches Déprimés event at Maxfield LA

Los Angeles brand Enfants Riches Déprimés is currently showcasing their Spring 2024 collection at Maxfield LA, and the event was attended by Marilyn Manson and his wife Lindsay on April 17th. On March 16th, Manson posted photos on his social media wearing the Enfants Riches Déprimés brand, which is French for "Depressed Rich Kids". Enfants Riches Déprimés is a Los Angeles and Paris based luxury fashion brand founded in 2012 by the conceptual artist Henri Alexander Levy, who has created a French punk streetwear line based on the movements of the late 1970s and Japanese Avant-garde movements of the 1980s. One of the core precepts of the brand is high price points, with T-shirts ranging on average from $500 to $1,000, and haute couture jackets priced as high as $95,000. ERD consistently utilizes the business model of artificial scarcity. In this regard, all styles are sold on an extremely exclusive basis, and thus in relatively small quantities. Ten Thoughts and Observations I Had Rewatching Evan Rachel Wood's "Phoenix Rising" (Part Two)

Phoenix Rising: Part Two

6. An Interesting 2009 Interview With Evan in Light of Phoenix Rising

An interview with Evan Rachel Wood was published in the New York Daily News on June 15, 2009. During this time she was living in New York, promoting her film Whatever Works, and training for a Broadway production of Spiderman. She wasn't with Manson at this time, but was casually dating Shane West. These are just a small portion of details not mentioned in Phoenix Rising. In light of Phoenix Rising, this interview also contains certain details of interest. As you read it (here), you will find the following:

A. Evan's mom had an unhealthy obsession with making her into the next Jodie Foster (an article on this is forthcoming).

B. Evan, like Manson, used violent language either as humor or for expressing herself (To Jodie Foster: "I don't know whether to kiss you or punch you.") (About her mom: "No! I would have killed her.").

C. Evan preferred a schedule where she stayed up all night and slept during the day, like she had with Manson ("Sleeping all day and doing a play at night is perfect for me, as I'm such a night person. It's like being on tour and I'm used to that schedule.").

D. Evan, when asked about the negative aspects of being with Manson during this time, always talked about the negative publicity and how hard it was for her ("... there was a lot of negative energy directed toward me and it was hard. Hard for my family, too.").

E. Evan read Lolita when she was 15, during which time she dressed like Lolita and collected Heart-Shaped Glasses ("They're all over my apartment, in every corner, and I do wear them.").

F. Evan, at this time, wanted to start a trend of young girls wearing the heart-shaped glasses she wore in Manson's video ("I was out and this girl drove by wearing the ones I wore in the video, and she rolled down the window to say, 'Hey! I've got them!' I was, like, 'Yessss, I've been waiting for this moment.'").

G. Evan apparently tried to get back together with Jaime Bell in 2009 after she was with Manson, but was rejected, saying that they were on good terms "until just recently." She went on to only give us this information: "He broke my heart into a million pieces, that's all I'm going to say."

H. Evan allegedly got her black belt in tae kwon do when she was around 12, where she met her then current best friend since the fifth grade and personal assistant. (in another interview she said she also competed in the Olympics, which I have examined in detail here).

7. The Real Reason Manson and Evan Broke Up

In part one of Phoenix Rising Evan spoke of the length of time her relationship with Manson lasted:

"Brian and I were together on and off for about four and half years starting mid-2006 (when I was 18) till early 2011 when I made my final escape."

Earlier I talked about how their friendship began in June 2006, but they didn't begin dating until January 2007, when she was 19. Based on the most recent data we have now, we can confirm the following timeline of Manson's and Evan's relationship since it began in January 2007:

June 2006 to December 2006 - Friends

January 2007 to October 2008 - Together

November 2008 to January 2009 - Not Together

February 2009 to April 2009 - Sort of Together

May 2009 to September 2009 - Not Together

October 2009 to August 2010 - Together

September 2010 to October 2010 - Not Together

November 2010 to March 2011 - Sort of Together

According to Marilyn Manson in his private correspondence with Esme Bianco, who was encouraging Manson to break up with Evan because of how awful she was treating him, he broke off the relationship with Evan for at least two reasons:

A. Because she left her cat with him while she was off filming Ides of March, and Manson was frustrated with the fact that her cat would fight with and injure his cat.

B. While he felt he was back home being used by Evan, she not only was off filming Ides of March, but she secretly filmed a video with Jared Leto, and she cheated on him also with Jared Leto, which Manson believed she did on purpose because she knew American Psycho was his favorite movie and she wanted to ruin it for him.

Not only did Evan not change her number and escape from Manson during Ides of March, but she went over his house after to get her cat and she confessed cheating with Jared Leto, which was the final straw for him to break up with her. This made Esme very happy, and she immediately plotted a way for herself to use Manson to get a visa and move to Hollywood from England.

8. A Secret About the Defaced Painting of Evan, and a Secret About Another Painting of Evan

In an over-the-top scene where Evan "therapeutically" defaces a painting Manson painted of her, with words describing what she allegedly suffered at his hands, there is a secret she does not reveal - it is not the original painting. The original painting, titled Someone Should Put Hearts Over Her Eyes, is owned by someone else, and I believe it was sold in November 2007. It is not known who the owner is, but this painting may have been the first or second painting made of Evan.

However, in November 2022 I was contacted by someone who owns another early painting of Evan, who purchased it on Halloween of 2006, at Manson's art gallery in Los Angeles (see photos here). This painting is called Pretty Persuasion, and is a depiction of Evan the way she appeared in 2005 film of the same name, with brown hair. According to the owner, and this information was confirmed by Manson himself, the reason Evan looks the way she does in this painting is because of a certain white substance that is under her nose. Basically, this painting is of Evan (or "Snowflake" as they used to call her) with cocaine residue left under her nose. Seeing that she has many photos taken with this painting and not of the Should Put Hearts Over Her Eyes painting, it seems she was especially proud of this one. When interviewed that night, she said she considered it an honor to be the subject of paintings by Manson.

Below are a few close up photos the owner sent me of Pretty Persuasion with the cocaine under her nose:

9. Evan Lies About Picking Up Her Son From Jaime Bell's House

In Phoenix Rising, when Evan Rachel Wood flees Los Angeles to go to Nashville, her son is said to be at his father Jaime Bell's house, so she says: "I swung by my exes house to pick up my child." They then proceed to drive supposedly from Los Angeles to Nashville.

This is a lie. Here are the facts from the custody hearing of Evan Rachel Wood vs. Jaime Bell:

Jaime and Evan had an arrangement to have custody of their son Jack on a two week rotation. In mid-November 2020, Jack was with Jaime in New Mexico where he was filming a movie. When Evan heard Jaime was really busy with work, she offered to fly to New Mexico and pick up Jack, so they could spend Thanksgiving together in Nashville, where she usually spent the holidays. And this is what Jaime thought happened. He assumed Evan and Jack went to Nashville, where they would spend Thanksgiving together, then they would return to Los Angeles by December 18th, so he could then pick him up on December 22nd, after filming was completed, and Jack could spend Christmas with Jaime.

What Evan didn't tell Jaime was that when she drove to New Mexico and picked up Jack to go to Nashville, she had no intention of allowing Jaime to spend Christmas with him, though she never told him this. It was only much later, after December 22nd, when Jaime was trying to contact Evan (he tried contacting her mother too, and she would not respond to him either), that he finally heard from her by email and she informed him that her life and Jack's life were in danger from Marilyn Manson and that he would not be spending any time in Los Angeles in the near future, at least until Manson was in jail and they were out of danger.

This is the basis of the custody dispute Jaime and Evan had in April 2021.

In Phoenix Rising, it is summarized with Evan saying: "I swung by my exes house to pick up my child." This is a complete lie and either implies Jaime Bell gave her permission to do this, or it implies that Jack is "my child" so she could do whatever she thought was right without Jaime's permission. What it does avoid talking about is Evan's deceptive methods in getting Jack away from his father and secretly to Nashville just because she allegedly felt threatened by Manson.

10. Putting Manson In Jail Was the Goal

The second half of Phoenix Rising makes it very clear what Evan's goal has been: to get Manson arrested and thrown in jail. And she really seemed to believe it would happen quickly.

According to the timeline of Phoenix Rising, an investigation into Marilyn Manson began in either July or August of 2020 by the LASD. The goal of the accusers was to have Manson arrested and jailed immediately. When Manson's new album came out in September 2020 and news was out that he was going to start touring in January 2021, as well as the fact that the rumor was Manson was getting nervous about his accusers coming forward, Evan decided to move with Jack to Nashville out of fear Manson was going to kill them. Her intention was to stay there until he was arrested and put in jail. Suddenly she got a call from the FBI in Nashville to meet for the first time, probably in December 2020, and this is supposedly what was depicted in the documentary. And though Evan describes the meeting as going well, she realized after about a month that the FBI was not going to arrest Manson, and the investigation in Los Angeles could last up to two years, so she decided to take matters into her own hands and force the LASD and FBI to work quicker and get Manson arrested by publicly naming him. This is why the public naming on social media took place on February 1, 2021, according to Phoenix Rising.

However, this is a false timeline. When Evan was interviewed by Good Morning America in March 2022, they said that Evan told them she first met with the FBI in November 2021, just months before the interview. Though we have gone into some detail elsewhere why that meeting probably never took place, certainly not as described in Phoenix Rising, it is confirmed that Evan certainly never met with the FBI any time in 2020, as Phoenix Rising describes and wants us to believe. Instead, what did happen on December 18, 2020, was Evan allegedly filed a police report against Leslee Lane and Lindsay Usich (Manson's wife) about leaking photos of her online and trying to extort her with them. This seems to have come to Evan's attention through Leslee's Discord channel, where she talked about leaking the photos in July 2020; Lindsay had nothing to do with this. So basically, if Evan was filmed going to the FBI in Nashville, maybe to drop off something or just ask questions, it was likely in November 2021, and this footage was edited to fit into the Phoenix Rising narrative. Amy Berg, the director of the documentary, said that filming for part two was still being done in early 2022, which explains why this is the likely scenario.

When Phoenix Rising ends and Evan is tucking in Jack telling him that the good guys are going to win, in the context of what we have seen, Evan winning was having Manson arrested and jailed. She perhaps truly believed, or at least wants her audience to believe, that her intention for naming Manson on social media was that it would get Manson arrested and jailed. Perhaps she now says this to justify her actions and make a point to her fellow accusers, but it was certainly the narrative of the documentary and adds to her tragedy for all those who believe her story: Evan is still walking in fear because Manson is still not in jail.
