In a recent podcast interview about narcissistic abuse, Evan Rachel Wood said that Marilyn Manson described in his autobiography how the Brian Warner part of him was dead and whatever he had become was now his true self. Her purpose was to show that Manson completely abandoned his humanity and truly came to embody a disassociated narcissistic monster. But is this what his autobiography actually said or even implied? No, of course not. He says something along those lines, but she completely twists it to make a point that fits her narrative rather than the actual facts. What Manson actually describes in his autobiography is that he went through a personal apocalypse. He writes: "When I first conceived of Antichrist Superstar , I set out to create an apocalypse. But I didn’t realize it was going to be a personal one. As a child, I had been a weakling, a worm, a follower, a small shadow trying to find a place in an infinite world of light. Marilyn Manson will performing at Arizona Bike Week in Scottsdale, Arizona on Saturday, April 5th 2025!
Though Manson had not been previously scheduled for this event which is just a few weeks away, yesterday Arizona Bike Week made the following announcement on their social media pages:
"Five Finger Death Punch had to cancel their performance due to a family matter, but we’re thrilled to announce Marilyn Manson will be taking the stage in the RockYard on Saturday, April 5th!! Saturday ticket holders will be receiving an email regarding this schedule change."
Due to the lineup change, this will be Marilyn Manson's first headliner at a festival since his return to the stage last year.
Regarding the nearly last minute schedule change, Arizona Bike Week producer Lisa Cyr told the Arizona Republic the following:
“It’s been a little crazy, obviously. A lot of scrambling. But we’re pretty excited with the way it all turned out. Marilyn Manson, I hear that his last few tours have been just incredible.
We sent out an email to all of our Saturday ticket holders instructing them on how to request a refund, and we haven’t had a ton of requests. A few people, but a lot of people are just as excited about Marilyn Manson. But yeah, we are giving full refunds to those who request them.
Our tickets are just like everybody else’s. The terms are ‘no refunds’ and ‘subject to artist change,’ but we’re not gonna enforce that in this case. We want our customers to be happy and to get what they paid for. So we are honoring refunds for people who request them.”
Last summer, Five Finger Death Punch completed a headlining U.S. tour with support from Marilyn Manson and Slaughter to Prevail. The tour kicked off on August 2, 2024 in Hershey, Pennsylvania and ran through September 19, 2024 when it concluded in Houston, Texas.
