In a recent podcast interview about narcissistic abuse, Evan Rachel Wood said that Marilyn Manson described in his autobiography how the Brian Warner part of him was dead and whatever he had become was now his true self. Her purpose was to show that Manson completely abandoned his humanity and truly came to embody a disassociated narcissistic monster. But is this what his autobiography actually said or even implied? No, of course not. He says something along those lines, but she completely twists it to make a point that fits her narrative rather than the actual facts. Almost as soon as a 2025 European Winter tour was announced by Marilyn Manson, all ten dates in seven countries were completely sold out for what would be his first headlining tour since 2019.
The first show kicked off on February 10th in Zurich, Switzerland at Halle 622, with The Blackmordia as the supporting act. Not only was this Manson's first show of 2025, but it was his first headlining show since the release of his new album One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1. With him were the same band members - Tyler Bates (guitar, backing vocals), Reba Meyers (guitar, backing vocals), Matthew Montgomery (bass, backing vocals), and Gil Sharone (drums).
Being the first tour for the new album, the setlist included several newer songs than his previous performances in 2024, among them being the opener "Nod If You Understand" after an Intro with music from "Sacrifice of the Mass", as well as "Meet Me in Purgatory", "Death Is Not a Costume", and the Outro recording from "One Assassination Under God". Returning new songs were "Raise the Red Flag" and "As Sick as the Secrets Within". Performed for the first time since 2019 was "The Nobodies". "The Fight Song" was listed on the setlist, but wasn't played.
