The New Symbolism of Marilyn Manson's Stage Show Since 2024

   Since Marilyn Manson returned to the stage in the summer of 2024 with the One Assassination Under God tour, pulsating illuminated upside-down double crosses have been a consistent part of the stage design. The double cross itself is nothing new in Manson's work. It has been part of his imagery for many years and became particularly prominent again after the Heaven Upside Down era. What is new since 2024 is the way the symbol has been incorporated into the lighting of the performance. Rather than functioning simply as a static emblem, the crosses now pulsate and change as part of the stage itself, becoming one of the most noticeable elements of every concert. Marilyn Manson Kicks Off 2025 European Headline Tour


Almost as soon as a 2025 European Winter tour was announced by Marilyn Manson, all ten dates in seven countries were completely sold out for what would be his first headlining tour since 2019.

The first show kicked off on February 10th in Zurich, Switzerland at Halle 622, with The Blackmordia as the supporting act. Not only was this Manson's first show of 2025, but it was his first headlining show since the release of his new album One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1. With him were the same band members - Tyler Bates (guitar, backing vocals), Reba Meyers (guitar, backing vocals), Matthew Montgomery (bass, backing vocals), and Gil Sharone (drums).

Being the first tour for the new album, the setlist included several newer songs than his previous performances in 2024, among them being the opener "Nod If You Understand" after an Intro with music from "Sacrifice of the Mass", as well as "Meet Me in Purgatory", "Death Is Not a Costume", and the Outro recording from "One Assassination Under God". Returning new songs were "Raise the Red Flag" and "As Sick as the Secrets Within". Performed for the first time since 2019 was "The Nobodies". "The Fight Song" was listed on the setlist, but wasn't played.

Next Marilyn Manson will perform in Italy, Germany, the Czech Republic, Denmark, the Netherlands and will conclude with three dates in the United Kingdom, with the final show of the tour on February 23rd.
