A Different Kind of Comeback At first glance, Henri Alexander Lévy's music video for Marilyn Manson's "Front Toward Enemy" appears surprisingly restrained. Considering the title and the confrontational tone of the song, one might reasonably expect a visual statement built around warfare, retaliation, or public vindication. Instead, the music video repeatedly turns away from those expectations. It lingers on a child dressed in military attire, a motionless body on an examination table, shelves of psychology books, childhood trophies, playground equipment, and a cabinet filled with carefully arranged artifacts. None of these images directly illustrates the lyrics, yet none of them feels arbitrary. Almost as soon as a 2025 European Winter tour was announced by Marilyn Manson, all ten dates in seven countries were completely sold out for what would be his first headlining tour since 2019.
The first show kicked off on February 10th in Zurich, Switzerland at Halle 622, with The Blackmordia as the supporting act. Not only was this Manson's first show of 2025, but it was his first headlining show since the release of his new album One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1. With him were the same band members - Tyler Bates (guitar, backing vocals), Reba Meyers (guitar, backing vocals), Matthew Montgomery (bass, backing vocals), and Gil Sharone (drums).
Being the first tour for the new album, the setlist included several newer songs than his previous performances in 2024, among them being the opener "Nod If You Understand" after an Intro with music from "Sacrifice of the Mass", as well as "Meet Me in Purgatory", "Death Is Not a Costume", and the Outro recording from "One Assassination Under God". Returning new songs were "Raise the Red Flag" and "As Sick as the Secrets Within". Performed for the first time since 2019 was "The Nobodies". "The Fight Song" was listed on the setlist, but wasn't played.
