Evan Rachel Wood and Jaime Bell Have New Custody Arrangement

Last we heard of the custody arrangement between Evan Rachel Wood and Jaime Bell was in May 2023. Then it was reported that according to court documents, Evan Rachel Wood lost primary custody of her son Jack to her ex-husband Jaime Bell, who wanted "the Court to know that Evan's recent behavior with Jack is truly alarming." Among the "truly alarming" things cited by Jaime was that she was "feeding" their son false information about Marilyn Manson, which caused him to have crippling anxiety and fear. Evan, who lived in Tennessee at the time and still does, had been allegedly keeping the boy away from Los Angeles, where Jaime lived, because, she claimed (based on a forged FBI letter written by Evan and Illma Gore), she was a key witness in an investigation into abuse by Manson, who she believed was a threat to her and her son. She had also claimed that in 2014 Manson threatened her that he would "fuck" her infant son. Manson has denied all the...

Evan Rachel Wood's "Comeback" Story

Today, March 31st, is the final performance for Evan Rachel Wood as Audrey in the Off-Broadway production of Little Shop of Horrors, and to announce her final performance and bid farewell Evan shared some final thoughts with us on Instagram.

In her message, she tells us how it was a childhood dream of hers to perform on stage in New York, but then her "life was derailed by trauma and tragedy, and it seemed my dreams were stolen." What exactly is she referring to here?

The first time Evan was offered to perform on a New York stage was for the 2011 Broadway production of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, but because it was delayed it created a scheduling conflict for Evan, so she bowed out in March 2010, which was a few months into her engagement with Marilyn Manson. Is Evan now blaming Manson for stealing her dream?

Her second chance to star on a New York stage came 14 years later with Little Shop of Horrors, and in between that time Evan has starred in a number of movies, a successful television show, and even other stage productions, including her stage performances with her bands, among other things, keeping herself very busy. Nothing seems to have derailed her dreams from being fulfilled except perhaps for opportunities.

"I clawed my way out and made it back to where I belong. Don't ever give up. You can come back and take your place in the light," says Evan. What does this all mean?

The way I see it, today is Easter, and what Evan (despite claiming to be Jewish) is trying to do is spin the narrative of her personal story to fit a resurrection drama. Evan was crucified, left for dead, but has now come back to life after fulfilling her childhood dream despite all obstacles. And who crucified her? It was Marilyn Manson.

The photo choice is deliberate. It depicts Evan as Audrey with physical signs of being abused by her boyfriend, and she sings the signature song of the play, "Somewhere That's Green", where she sings of her longing to escape her abusive boyfriend and find true love.

But I'm dating a semi-sadist So I've got a black eye And my arm's in a cast.

Evan desperately wants her own comeback story, especially now that Marilyn Manson, with the announcement of his return to the stage this summer, is getting headlines for his comeback. The problem is, Evan doesn't have a comeback story. This is the first time we are hearing that "trauma and tragedy" derailed her life to such an extent that it prevented her from fulfilling her childhood dream. This is the first time we ever heard that her "dreams were stolen".

It seems to me that Evan performing eight shows a week for the past few months has made her a bit hyper-dramatic and delusional. Nothing in Evan's past suggests her life was ever derailed or her dreams were stolen. Evan stepped down from Spider-Man in 2010 because the show was delayed and she had a scheduling conflict. In fact, she stepped down along with her co-star Alan Cumming, who gave the same reason. So we know Manson was not responsible for the loss of that role. And there is no indication that she tried to get another role on a New York stage. What it does appear like is Evan trying to steal Manson's spotlight from his very real comeback, and that perhaps Evan may have taken this role specifically to boost her abuse narrative to help garner sympathy as a victim and make herself appear as a survivor.

This could also be a setup for Evan's future. As far as we know, she is still set to co-star along with Amanda Seyfried in what will likely be Evan's first Broadway production, Thelma & Louise: The Musical. It is not yet known when this will take place.
