The Backlash: When Social Media Becomes the Story When Slipknot announced their 2027 (sic)est Stadium Tour , with Marilyn Manson opening the Wembley Stadium show and joining them for the South American dates, including The Town in São Paulo, the reaction was almost immediate. Thousands of comments appeared beneath the announcement, many from people saying they would no longer attend. Some described the decision as disappointing, others said they would not spend money on a concert that included Manson, and some presented the booking as a betrayal of what they believed Slipknot represented. Tyler Bates, who has co-written and produced four albums for Marilyn Manson and toured with him on and off since 2015, announced his departure from the band today, January 5th 2025, in a post on Instagram. In 2015 and 2018 he made similar announcements, and joined Marilyn Manson once again to help revive his career after a number of setbacks by working with him on the album One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1 (2024) and the upcoming One Assassination Under God – Chapter 2 (2026), as well as touring with the band for 100 shows all around the world in 2024 and 2025.
