On April 1st it was announced that Marilyn Manson will kick off the second leg of his successful headlining "One Assassination Under God Tour" this fall. The European leg of the tour was scheduled to begin in the United Kingdom on October 29th in Brighton, along with five other shows in the U.K. (Bournemouth - Oct. 31, Cardiff - Nov. 1, Nottingham - Nov. 2, Manchester - Nov. 4, London - Nov. 7). Last year Marilyn Manson played to sold out crowds in their U.K. shows without any incidents and were received enthusiastically to rave reviews, while currently the upcoming Manchester show is already sold out. However, on June 27th ticket holders to the first show of the European tour in Brighton were notified that the show had been canceled with the following email message: "Due to unforeseen scheduling issues, Marilyn Manson is no longer able to play Brighton Centre on Wed 29 Oct 2025. However, on June 27th ticket holders to the first show of the European tour in Brighton were notified that the show had been canceled with the following email message:
"Due to unforeseen scheduling issues, Marilyn Manson is no longer able to play Brighton Centre on Wed 29 Oct 2025. Bookings for standard tickets will now be valid for the concert at London OVO Arena Wembley on Fri 7 Nov 2025. Alternatively, refunds are available from your point of purchase. VIP customers will be contacted separately."
Whoever said that the show was canceled "due to unforeseen scheduling issues" was clearly lying and thinks we are stupid enough to believe this excuse. Most likely this absurd excuse came from the venue or the City Council who owns the venue because they didn't want to face any backlash for being cowards. The fact of the matter is that a small group of male feminist activists called No Stage For Abusers, which closely works with the group Male Allies Challenging Sexism, has been pressuring their fellow left-wing liberal politicians in the Green Party to take up their cause and keep men like Marilyn Manson who have been accused of sexual assault from playing in the U.K. These male feminists, who even want to ban pornography in the United Kingdom, are on a purity crusade by going after much easier targets than tackling the porn industry, namely any male artist, especially a musician, who is scheduled to perform in the U.K., whether they have been charged with a sexual assault crime or even merely accused, and they justify this by saying they are doing it to eradicate any potential danger to women. In the case of Marilyn Manson, whose criminal charges were dropped due to lack of evidence after a four year investigation by the Los Angeles District Attorney, and whose civil lawsuits have been either settled, dismissed or pending, it was decided by the owners of the Brighton Centre to have the show canceled, which they also justify by accusing Manson of being a potential risk to women and girls who are specifically 14 and older, since the concert has an age restriction of 14 and older.
The cancelation of the Brighton show has prompted many to wonder if the rest of the shows in the U.K. will follow, since they are all being pressured to do so. The answer to this question is that it is highly unlikely those shows will be canceled also. The reason for this is because in four of the five remaining dates scheduled in the U.K., Marilyn Manson is supported by Live Nation operated venues, not government owned venues like in Brighton, where the City Council run by elected officials can be much more easily pressured to cancel a concert at the Brighton Centre which they own and operate. On the other hand, the Bournemouth International Centre, while owned by the local Council, is operated by BH Live and the City Council has a lease arrangement with them where they have no input on the live acts appearing or any decisions made by BH Live, which makes it unlikely they will cancel their Marilyn Manson scheduled show either.

Male Allies Challenging Sexism started their offshoot No Stage For Abusers shortly after Marilyn Manson announced his U.K. shows and the venues started advertising these shows with posters around each city. The pathetic response of No Stage For Abusers was to go around as stealth vandalizers to deface these posters, the perception being that they are clearly a bunch of easily triggered lunatics. Then they started contacting local politicians and the venues themselves. The only response they got was from a few left-wing Green Party female like-minded annoying activist Council members. The first was Millie Earl, a Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council leader, who said in a Facebook livestream Q & A on June 17th the following:
"The Bournemouth International Centre is operated and managed by BH Live, but it is owned by the Council. Because of our lease arrangement with them, we don’t have any input into the decisions that are made, the acts that are appearing, although I have actually written to BH Live to express my concern about Marilyn Manson. I don’t feel Marilyn Manson reflects the values we have in BCP and we’ve been doing a lot of work around things like the White Ribbon accreditation scheme which helps men and boys change negative, damaging behaviors. We have also just launched a really powerful campaign (#JustDon't) on tackling harmful behaviors towards women and girls... So I have asked that BH Live reconsider hosting Marilyn Manson later this year to try and help reinforce the message that violence against girls isn't something acceptable in our community."
Statements like this by Millie Earl are designed to set a moralistic standard to get artists they "feel" offended by canceled through means of virtue signaling themselves as standard-bearers to get others to follow. Those who don't follow their example are viewed as morally inferior to them and labeled as misogynists who support rapists and violent behavior towards women. The only way you can free yourself from this social pressure of being bound by such moralistic labels forced on your moral superiors is by ideologically conforming. In group think, where conformity and consensus are highly valued, virtue signaling can be a way for individuals to demonstrate their loyalty and adherence to the group's norms and values. The greatest danger of groupthink and virtue signalling combined is wrongful legislation. Other dangers include destroying lives, overlooking the real evils, and ignoring what needs attention.

Similar virtue signaling and groupthink came from a Member of Parliament for Brighton Pavilion, Siân Berry. MP Siân Berry expressed her concerns in an open letter to Bella Sankey, the leader of Brighton and Hove City Council, which not only owns the Brighton Centre but operates it as well. The letter, dated June 6th, was published on Siân Berry's website (here) and the Brighton and Hove Green Party website (here).
Chloë Goldsmith, Green Party councillor for Regency said: "Allowing this performance to go ahead in a council-run venue flies completely in the face of the values our city stands for. Questions need to be answered as to how this booking was ever allowed to go ahead in the first place. We urge the administration to urgently review its policy on future bookings and work with the legal and events teams to seek advice on how this booking can be cancelled."

Though Siân Berry reluctantly acknowledges that Marilyn Manson is not legally guilty of any crime against women, the essence of her argument is that he poses a risk, which is an absurd argument because only someone who is viewed as guilty is considered a risk. But viewing someone as guilty of accusations which have proven to be themselves problematic sets a precedent for unwarranted discrimination and baseless censorship. To show that Manson is most likely guilty of his accusations, Siân Berry cites RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network), which reports that out of every 1,000 sexual assaults, only 50 cases will lead to arrest and 975 perpetrators will ultimately walk free. However, the presumption of this questionable report is that those who walk free are all guilty, which means she as a government official in the U.K. is questioning the justice system in America. And like America, the presumption of innocence is a fundamental principle of the criminal justice system that requires evidence beyond a reasonable doubt to assume one is guilty of a crime.
Fortunately, the great majority of people commenting on social media agree that Brighton canceling the Marilyn Manson performance sets a horrible if not frightening precedent for discrimination and censorship no different from the fascism and fundamentalism which religious and political groups have used against Manson to get him canceled in the past (see "Man Condemns Cancellation of Marilyn Manson's Brighton Performance"). Activist groups like No Stage For Abusers and Male Allies Challenging Sexism are nothing but instruments of such discrimination and censorship, and like most extremists they are control freaks. They virtue signal individuals and organizations to pressure them to think the way they think, judging those who don't think like them as morally inferior and being incapable of making judgments for themselves, and like fascists they impose their own will on others by being loud and obnoxious and potentially violent. When they are able to find politicians who are like-minded, this is how you get a canceled Marilyn Manson concert.
It is of little to no loss to Marilyn Manson that his concert is canceled in Brighton. In fact, it has given him a lot of great publicity, and has made him look just as relevant as ever in fighting against injustice, slander and fascism. The loss is for the dozens of people he employs who lose a few days of work to make their income. The loss is for the fans who made travel arrangements and hotel reservations to attend the show in Brighton, and now they have to go to London a few hours away on a different date, though thankfully that venue is nearly triple the size of the Brighton venue and can accommodate them. Though it should be noted that some people won't be able to attend the London show for various reasons, so they completely lose out. The biggest loss however is for the city of Brighton and especially the Brighton Centre, where they greatly lose out financially from the thousands of visitors that would be coming to the city that night. But their biggest loss is their reputation for being a city and venue of discrimination and censorship, where even if you are merely deemed a risk as an artist will from now have you banned from performing.
No Stage For Abusers issued the following statement upon hearing the news of the canceled gig in Brighton:
No Stage For Abusers issued the following statement upon hearing the news of the canceled gig in Brighton:
Despite the cancelation of the concert, a female feminist group known as Sisters Salon will dedicate their monthly meeting on July 19th to talk about Marilyn Manson and other male artists they don't deem appropriate for their city. Essentially they believe you can't make a morally acceptable decision for yourself as to what concerts and artists you should see, so they as your moral superiors are seeking to make the decision for you.
The official website of Brighton, England describes the city as "an inclusive, free-thinking city in the heart of Sussex." What we found out a few days ago, however, was that Brighton, England is just the opposite. Activists and politicians are making sure that any musical artist who has had any type of sexual allegations or accusations against him, even if they have been legally cleared of these accusations and had no charges brought against them, are not welcome to be a part of their city in any public manner. Rock and Roll may be alive and well on planet earth... except in Brighton, England. And #MeToo activists say that cancel culture doesn't exist, though they sure are trying to make it a norm in societies around the world.
I would encourage everyone to contact the above named individuals through phone or email to express your outrage over the decision in Brighton and encourage others to fight against discrimination, censorship and bullying from activist groups and politicians who want to control decisions you are perfectly capable making on your own. This action is especially encouraged for the thousands of Manson supporters who planned to attend the Brighton concert, and those who plan to attend the Bournmouth concert should contact BH Live (enquiries@bhlive.org.uk).
