DON'T ANSWER THE DOOR: Marilyn Manson Realizing His Power

Marilyn Manson’s "Don't Answer the Door" at first sounds like a scene straight out of a horror movie or the poetic mind of Edgar Allan Poe, where the subject is trapped inside while voices scream from the outside. But when you look closer at the lyrics, it looks to actually be a song about survival, getting sober, and taking back control of your life. Instead of being a song about hiding in fear, it is about setting hard boundaries. It shows that true power doesn't come from fighting your past mistakes, but from locking them out completely so you can heal. The song starts by setting up a safe space away from the rest of the world: “Unscrew the lightbulbs / In your eyes / Let my darkness inhale you.” Here, Manson is setting up the idea that he is deliberately choosing to take sanctuary in a place of darkness by removing himself from an artificial light. In this darkness, away from all the noise, he can finally listen to his inner voice. This imagery perfectly mirror...

Marilyn Manson Continues His Streak of Hits With His Collaboration on "God Is A Weapon"

Between the release of his album One Assassination Under God - Chapter 1 last year and his cover of "In the Air Tonight" this past April, Marilyn Manson has rejuvenated his career with hits in charts around the world. His latest collaboration with Falling in Reverse titled "God Is A Weapon", which was released as a digital download and music video directed by Jensen Noen on May 20, 2025, has continued his streak of hit releases.

The song debuted at number 67 on the UK Singles Downloads Chart and at number 70 on the UK Singles Sales Chart. The following week, the song peaked at 58 on the UK Singles Downloads Chart, and at number 61 on the UK Singles Sales Chart, which resulted in the song debuting at number 32 on the UK Rock & Metal Singles Chart.

The song was also successful in the United States, debuting at number 24 on Billboard's Digital Song Sales, number 11 on Hot Hard Rock Songs, number 47 on Hot Rock & Alternative Songs, and number 38 on Mainstream Rock. It also debuted at number 1 for Hard Rock Digital Song Sales and remained at number 1 in its second week.

Two weeks after the release of the music video, it is number 40 for top music videos on YouTube with 6.4 million views. Originally Epitaph Records did not say the music video featured Marilyn Manson, which caught everyone by surprise with the collaboration, but now the title of the video states that it features Marilyn Manson.

Despite critical acclaim for the song "God Is A Weapon", Ronnie Radke has noted on social media that despite this song being the biggest hit of his career, he has received more criticism for the song than he has ever received, despite being a controversial figure in the music industry. In a video on May 21st, he praised his true fans: "I have the best fanbase, and I’ll give you reasons why: They’re not a bunch of punk ass, pussy ass bitches that whine and cry over who bands tour with and who bands work with." He described the social media users who were critical as being "fucking crazy, fucking delusional, online all the time." Then on May 31st he wrote:

As I mentioned also in a previous post, "God Is A Weapon" sparked dozens of reaction videos from fans of Falling in Reverse who had no idea Marilyn Manson was involved until they saw him and heard his voice in the video. This has now inspired a number of these same people to now go back into Marilyn Manson's catalogue and listen to his music and see his videos for the first time and give their reactions.
