Trial Date Set for Ashley Walters Case Against Marilyn Manson

According to Rolling Stone (which purposefully posted a photo of Manson from the last decade looking defeated), Ashley Walters, who was Marilyn Manson's personal assistant from 2010 to 2011, and whose case against him was revived upon appeal in December 2023, is now set to get a trial against her former boss, with a jury trial set to begin June 2, 2025. Apparently there was an attempt to resolve the case through mediation in December 2023, but according to Walters’ lawyer, James Vagnini, the parties were “not successful at resolving the case.” “We are happy that the delays are behind us and that we will have an opportunity to depose Mr. Warner and present all the facts to a jury next year,” Walters’ lawyer James Vagnini said in a statement to Rolling Stone . “We are confident they will acknowledge the harm done to Ms. Walters and deliver a resounding message to all survivors of such terrible abuse.” There has been no comment as of yet from Manson's team, but he has denied &q

Marilyn Manson's 55th Birthday Party

Footage and photos have emerged from Marilyn Manson‘s 55th birthday party last night, including the moment that he was serenaded by his friends (led by Taylor Bates with piano accompaniment) and blew out the andles on his custom-made cake.

The celebration was hosted by Manson's good friend and collaborator Tyler Bates, and the guests included many known supporters and long time friends of his.

In some past birthday celebrations, guests would be given a drink menu of various alcoholic beverages, but this year, like last year, it was a sober birthday party, featuring Kittie Pig non-alcholic beer.

Though we were never told what his wish was before he blew out the candles, his gathered friends did call out for him to make a speech, to which he said: "2024 is gonna be our year!" Sounds like a wish and a promise combined of exciting things to come, including, reportedly, a new album.

As was previously reported, Manson's wife Lindsay had earlier in the day posted a series of photos of Manson on Instagram, including a message sending him some birthday love, which Manson reposted. In this message she referred to Manson as "my Angel", and included the famous image of Alexandre Cabanel's "Fallen Angel" dating to 1847. This same image was on Manson's birthday cake, which is fitting as it is engulfed in the flames of the candles that are then extinguished by Manson's breath. Inspired by Milton's "Paradise Lost", Cabanel depicts Lucifer with perfect physical form and darkening wings as he is about to be banished and cast out paradise, and a tear of rage emerges from his eyes while his muscles are tense and ready to fight back. We've seen this before.

In a June 2001 interview after the release of Holy Wood, Manson talked about the Triptych he created and how it is to be interpreted in chronologically reversed order as a revolution, with Holy Wood being equivalent to Lucifer before his fall, Mechanical Animals the immediate outcome of the fall, and Antichrist Superstar as the final result. He says:

"[Holy Wood is about] wanting to fit into a world that didn't want me, and fighting really hard to get there. The album's deepest elements are idealism and the desire to start a revolution. If you begin with Holy Wood, then Mechanical Animals really talks about how that revolution gets taken away from you and turned into a product, and then Antichrist Superstar is where you're given a choice to decide if you're going to be controlled by the power that you created or if you want to destroy yourself and then start over. It just becomes a cycle."

To a certain extent, one gets a sense that we are beginning this cycle again in a different form.
