When One Assassination Under God – Chapter 2 was released on August 14, 2026, it contained nine songs. “You Can't Die Young” was not one of them, though it was teased on August 14th in Manson's Virtual Art Exhibit. Two weeks later, at midnight on August 28, Marilyn Manson unexpectedly released an expanded edition of the album with this previously unreleased song added to the tracklist. Manson described it simply as “a special gift,” but its placement is more interesting than that description might suggest. On the expanded edition, “You Can't Die Young” appears as the sixth track, directly after “None of the Suns” and immediately before “Lucifer's Teardrop.” The song was therefore recorded last, yet it now occupies a position in the sequence between a song consumed by darkness and an encounter with a fallen angel trying to find his way home. On Saturday, April 27th, Marilyn Manson and his wife Lindsay were spotted attending the Adam Ant concert at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, sitting among the audience. Marilyn Manson is a long time fan of Adam Ant and he is a very clear influence from him not only musically but also appearance and performance wise. Likewise, in 2002, Adam Ant referred to Marilyn Manson as his favorite current performer. Interestingly, despite the mutual admiration for each other as artists, they never actually met, according to one source, until after this concert.
